Jameson Monarch

NEWS

Jameson Monarch’s first full-length album, a 2-year project of love and labour, is set to be released this Spring (2026)

Stay tuned for the first single!

ABOUT

Based in Red Deer, Alberta, Jameson Monarch is a coming-together of musicians integral to Canada’s roots and country scene: Sydney Zadravec on bass and vocals (Red Hot Hayseeds, Virago, The Haybelles), James Adams on keys and vocals, Colin Langstraat (Harehound, Young Howler) on drums and vocals, and driven by lead songwriter Stephen James Scott on vocals and guitar.

Jameson Monarch’s songs get to the core of small town prairie life, from hard times to stark beauty, speaking universally of love, loss and consequence. Drawing inspiration from the music icons of early blues through to modern folk-rock, their sound ranges from stripped down and lonesome to powerfully gritty. Scott’s rich baritone vocals convey his lyrics in intimate storyteller style, with each band member lending even greater depth and personality to the music.

Set to release their first full-length album this Spring (2026), Jameson Monarch is primed to become the new favourite of any fan of folk, rock, roots and country.

Having honed his craft performing solo and in collaborations for over a decade, Stephen James Scott, now performing as Jameson Monarch, released “Stories From A Small City” in November, 2021. The EP features a full band, and while his guitar and vocals remain centre stage, the tracks are tastefully fleshed out with violin and steel guitar, minimalist drums, and on occasion feature his lonesome harmonica.
